How it works
- Enter the electrical power and choose W or kW.
- Enter the hours used per day and days per month.
- Add the price you pay for each kWh.
- Review energy use, cost and potential savings from shorter use.
Practical example
A 2,500 W unit used 8 hours a day for 30 days at €0.20/kWh would use 600 kWh per month and cost approximately €120.
Formula and explanation
First, watts are converted to kilowatts by dividing by 1,000. The result is then multiplied by running time.
Monthly usage = power in kW × hours per day × days per month. Cost is usage multiplied by the price per kWh.
The estimate assumes constant power. An inverter system may modulate its output and use less in practice.
